Third Quarter, 2012 Grants Announced

Westfield – The Westfield Foundation continues to give back to Westfield and its surrounding community by approving $27,000 in grants funds to be used in such sectors as Social Services, the Arts, Education, Health and Civic.  Projects include musical equipment for a local children’s hospital, support of a hospitality house for the homeless, underwriting programs for the community and support of a youth at-risk program.

The third quarter recipients include: The Westfield Historical Society, the Westfield High School PTSO, YMCA Eastern Union County, Continuo Arts Foundation, Children’s Specialized Hospital and the Elizabeth Coalition for the Homeless.

To date, the Foundation has dispersed over $166,000 in grant monies for 2012.

A grant from the Westfield Foundation providing funding to the JCC of Central New Jersey for a Music Appreciation class for seniors. Classes are scheduled now through summer, 2013. Upcoming classes include a discussion about Frank Sinatra, Sousa and Bernstein and love songs and duets from beloved operas. Thomas Elefant, the music educator and Barbara Weisbert, the Director of Adult Enrichment at the JCC, proudly hold the ceremonial check.
