Westfield Foundation Welcomes New Executive Director

The Westfield Foundation has named Gerard P. ‘Jay’ Boyle, a lifelong resident of Westfield, as our Executive Director.  Jay served on the board of trustees for the previous six years before taking this position.  He succeeds Betsy Chance, who served as Executive Director for 26 years.

Jay grew up in Westfield, attending Holy Trinity Grammar and High School.  He attended Assumption University in Worcester, MA and Kean University, then worked as a Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired from 1970 through 1991.  He left as the Deputy Director of the agency.  He began a new career in the Insurance and Investment business, from which he retired in 2020.

Jay has always been involved in philanthropic and community activities, including The Optimist Club, the Westfield Y board, and the Westfield Chamber of Commerce board.  Jay also served as Chairman of the Westfield Planning Board from 2001 through 2005.  Jay lives in Westfield has three adult sons Bryan, Kevin and James.

“I am most excited about making sure people know who we are and what we do.” For good..forever…for Westfield.
