Westfield Foundation Supports Boys & Girls Club of Union

Union, NJ  — Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County received a grant award from The Westfield Foundation of $20,000 to support their expanded Career Launch Program.  Elizabeth Chance, Executive Director of The Westfield Foundation, along with Trustees Darielle Walsh and Claudia Andreski, visited the Union Club to present the award to Russell Triolo, CEO.  Support from The Westfield Foundation will allow Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County to continue offering expanded services Career Launch services to teens as they prepare for higher education and ultimately, their future in the workforce.

“Our partnership with The Westfield Foundation reaches beyond our Clubs,”stated Russell Triolo, Chief Executive Officer. “The expanded Career Launch program provides our teens with additional resources and access to tools and professionals that will give them an advantage as they enter college and the workforce. Their generous support allows us to reach more teens in our communities and bring the program to middle school members as well.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County offers Career Launch as part of teen programs.  Teens are introduced to a variety of aspects of career and higher education preparation, including preparing resumes, college entrance applications, essays, researching colleges and universities, interview preparation, and meeting career mentors.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County is celebrating 60 years of changing lives in Union County!  Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County offers youth programs in 5 communities in Union County: Plainfield, Elizabeth, Union, Hillside and Roselle.  Teen leadership programs for ages 14-18 are available in Union, Elizabeth and Plainfield.  Members participate in character, leadership, career preparation and community service activities throughout the year.  Aquatics is available at our Union Club.  For information on our clubs and programs, please visit our website www.bgcuc.org or contact us 908-687-2697.
