Westfield Foundation annouces 2nd quarter grants

Westfield – The Westfield Foundation, our local community foundation, continues to work to enhance the quality of life for Westfield and its neighboring communities.  Foundation Trustees recently selected the grant recipients for the second quarter of 2012.The Foundation granted over $30,000 to 8 local programs.    These grants will be used for a start-up organization in Union County providing emergency shelter for homeless families, a training program for youth at risk, medical supplies and library needs of a an elder care facility and necessary office equipment for various agencies.  The Foundation additionally granted $35,000 towards Westfield Rotary scholarships, $5,000 from the McCoy scholarship fund for Westfield High School students and $16,250 granted towards the Union County Summer Youth Employment program.

This quarter’s recipients include: Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, Furniture Assist, Family Promise, Streetlight Mission, Planned Parenthood, Literacy Volunteers, Cerebral Palsy League and Sage Eldercare.
