The Westfield Foundation Champions Accessibility & Collaboration with $120K in Q1 Grants

The Westfield Foundation proudly announces its 2025 Q1 grants, awarding over $120,000 to local organizations that exemplify our commitment to accessibility, equity and strategic partnerships. As we celebrate 50 years of service, we remain dedicated to fostering positive change and strengthening our community through impactful collaborations.

“For five decades, The Westfield Foundation has worked hand-in-hand with local organizations to remove barriers and create opportunities for all,” said Katie Darcy, executivedDirector of The Westfield Foundation. “This quarter’s grantees reflect our deep commitment to equity and accessibility, ensuring that individuals of all ages and backgrounds have the resources they need to thrive. We are especially proud to see past grantees collaborating, reinforcing the power of partnership in driving meaningful change.”

Union County College Foundation – Nourish the Future: Tackling student food insecurity, this initiative expands free meals, food pantry services and access to fresh groceries, ensuring no student must choose between education and nourishment.

El Centro Hispanoamericano – Asylum Education & Support: Providing vital legal education and assistance, these workshops empower immigrants with the knowledge to navigate the asylum process, preventing costly missteps and ensuring informed decision-making.

JCC of Central NJ – Multimedia Music & Lifelong Learning Series: Combating social isolation among older adults, this engaging music and history-based program fosters connection, mental stimulation and a stronger sense of community.

Music for All Seasons – The Wide World of Music Project: Bringing interactive music education to children in underserved communities, this program fosters creativity and cultural appreciation through hands-on experiences with diverse musical styles and instruments. Notably, past Westfield Foundation grantees; Community Access Unlimited and Josephine’s Place have joined forces to expand this initiative.

Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center – Theater Lighting Upgrade: Enhancing the performing arts, this grant funds energy-efficient lighting, improving production quality, safety and sustainability to support an inclusive and vibrant theater scene.

Junior Achievement of New Jersey – Career Readiness for Economic Mobility: Equipping low-to-middle-income youth with real life financial literacy and career education, this program empowers students to achieve long-term economic success and break cycles of hardship.

Second Street Youth Center – Facility Enhancements: Strengthening youth STEM programs, summer camps, and community gatherings, this funding provides updated tables and storage, creating a more functional and welcoming learning environment.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Westfield – Historic Exhibit on African American Communities: Expanding local historical awareness, this exhibit preserves the stories of Westfield’s African American neighborhoods, inspiring reflection on past injustices and ongoing efforts toward equity.
