The Westfield Foundation Announces Q3 2024 Grantees: Advancing Inclusivity, Mental Health, and Senior Care

The Westfield Foundation is proud to announce the allocation of $52,000 in Q3 grants, raising its total year-to-date funding to $278,000. This quarter’s grants reflect the Foundation’s ongoing dedication to improving community well-being, focusing on inclusivity, accessibility, mental health support, and elder care.

“Our goal is to support all segments of our Community,” said Katie Curran Darcy, Executive Director of the Westfield Foundation. “These investments in critical areas, provide children with inclusive play spaces, offer essential care for our seniors, and mental health support for our youth. We believe these projects will have a lasting impact.” The Westfield Foundation remains committed to addressing the evolving needs of the community, ensuring that resources reach all populations and create lasting positive change.

2024 Q3 Grantees:

  • Project Playground at Jefferson Elementary: This initiative will transform the playground into an inclusive and accessible environment for all children. The playground serves over 470 students and is a vital resource for community programs like aftercare, soccer, baseball, and summer camps. The grant will fund new accessible playground equipment and surfacing, ensuring that children of all abilities can play together.
  • SAGE Eldercare: Funds will enhance the Adult Medical Day and Homecare programs, covering the cost of meals, medical supplies, and activity materials. These programs provide critical support to our Community’s aging population, ensuring that seniors receive proper care, nutrition, and engagement through personalized activities.
  • Trinitas Health Foundation: The grant will support therapeutic enhancements to the New Point Specialty teen residential program, including recreational and cultural outings and the installation of a wall mural. These initiatives are aimed at promoting emotional and mental healing for at-risk teens who have suffered significant trauma.
