The Westfield Foundation met in May to distribute more than $29,000 in grants to seven programs and projects. These grants will help to fund a Young Entrepreneurs Academy, support families living with cancer, and purchase equipment for a pre-school program to name a few.
This quarter’s recipients include: Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, Westfield Chamber of Commerce, Summit Speech School, Planned Parenthood, IMAGINE, Inc., the Westfield Community Band and Furniture Assist. In addition, the trustees approved a $100,000 grant to the Westfield Y, to be paid in installments over 5 years, to support their new capital campaign.
Additionally, the Foundation is also pleased to announce the new executive board for 2013-14: Bill Foley, president; Rick Coltrera, vice-president; Alice Fertig, treasurer; and Howard Cohen, secretary. Eighty individuals have served as trustees in the past and there are currently 15 trustees serving on the Westfield Foundation Board.
