Cornerstone Members honored at reception at Reeves House in Westfield

Westfield – The Westfield Foundation recently honored former trustees at a special event held at Reeves House in Westfield.  This event acknowledged these individuals for their contribution to the Foundation as well as their continuing philanthropy in Westfield and its surrounding communities.

The Westfield Foundation has prospered and grown due to the dedication of all of the trustees who have served over its thirty-seven year history.  In recognition of the trustees’ past efforts, and in appreciation of their continued involvement and interest in the Foundation, the Cornerstone Society was initiated in 1999.  Upon completion of their terms of office, current trustees automatically become members of the Cornerstone Society.  Seventy-seven individuals have served on the board since its inception in 1975, and there are currently 15 trustees on the Foundation Board.

In addition to their service on the Westfield Foundation Board, these community members have also served on many area Boards, including the Rotary Club of Westfield, Westfield Symphony Orchestra, the Westfield ‘Y’, Youth and Family Counseling, Contact-We-Care, the Westfield Community Center, the United Fund of Westfield, the Westfield Service League, and many more.

In the 37 years the Foundation has been in existence, the Foundation has awarded over $4.2 million to more than 160 different agencies, organizations and programs, in the areas of the arts, health, social service and education.   The Foundation currently holds 110 individual funds, including 47 individual scholarship funds, which award over $100,000 per year.
