Alice and Bob Dillon Honored for Service

Westfield- The Westfield Foundation honored Alice and Bob Dillon at their annual Cornerstone breakfast, held in December at ELCC.

Bob Dillon, who passed away in May 2012, and Alice were honored not solely for their work with the Westfield Foundation.  The Dillons were involved with many organizations in the area, including the United Fund, Overlook Hospital, the Westfield Library, Westfield Senior Citizen Housing, and New Jersey Connect, to name a few.

Foundation President Bill Foley noted, “We honor what they have done, not with a plaque or a breakfast, but by accepting the torch they are now passing to each of us to work for the common good.  Alice and Bob understood that to make sense of ourselves in this community, this country, we must start with the idea that we are not alone, nor are all of our choices about what we want.  There is a middle ground, habits of the heart, where we voluntarily dedicate ourselves to the service of others.”
