2Q for 2017 Grants Announced by the Foundation

Since 1975, the mission of the Westfield Foundation has been to provide funding support in the arts, health, aging, historic preservation, social services and civic projects.  In pursuit of these goals, the Foundation has granted over than $6,400,000 to various organizations.

In the second quarter for 2017, the Foundation granted $86,593 to 10 local organizations.  These funds will be used to buy toys and play equipment for preschoolers, replace worn carpet at the WML, the purchase of a defibrillator and security system, replacement of aging computers and laptops, provide respite care scholarships, provide transportation for children to swim lessons, and recruit and train adult volunteers.  Recipients this quarter are: Alzheimer’s New Jersey, Caring Contact, Children’s Dyslexia Center, Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, Imagine, Inc., Literacy New Jersey, Summit Speech School, Westfield Memorial Library, Westfield Neighborhood Council, and Westfield Public Schools.

In addition to supporting the capital projects of established social service agencies in the community, the Westfield Foundation has also been an important resource of ‘seed money’ for smaller organizations and emerging needs.

Money to support the Foundation’s grants has been and continues to be provided by concerned and caring Westfield residents.
